At the time of writing i hope you are all enjoying this long spell of sunny we are having, unfortunately the flip side of this as you are all aware the ground is extremely dry it is just dust.

We had not long finished all our summer bedding plants when the heat wave arrived and we are doing our best to water all our plants though out Woolton Village but this is extremely hard work.

Can I ask if you live or work near one of our WIB planters feel free to water the plants -we would be very grateful.

We have just recently celebrated Woolton In Bloom's Open Gardens event at The Bishops Lodge which was a huge success with 12 gardens open to the public viewing in and around the village. this event is a great financial boost for WIB as you all know there is no funding at all from Liverpool City Council at all, so thank you to you all who attended  the event or who helped the Women of Woolton WI for serving delicious cakes,,coffees and teas at their pop up café within the grounds of the Lodge.

as ever we are looking for volunteers all the time to help WIB, If you are interested we meet in the lock upon the High Street every Wednesday and Saturday 10-12. No gardening experience is needed-we are a great group sharing lots of experience and managed by Kerry Peacock our Horticultural Director- you will even be given a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit if you come.
